Take a flight or train to Tezpur in Assam. Once in Tezpur, you can rent a bike and set forth on your journey.
Enjoy the views of Ziro in the morning, and then set forth on your journey ahead to Aalo. The 320 km long route sees lush green hills and dense evergreen vegetation. You can take breaks mid-way and reach Aalo (aka Along) by the evening.
From plains, grasslands and hills to the mountains. Mechuka is at a distance of 190 km from Aalo. Along with the views of snow-clad peaks, you can also see exotic tribal engaged in their daily action. You may have to get down off your bike to walk on some hanging bridges here.
Return from Mechuka, and head towards Basar. Enjoy riding along the Siyom river through banana and orange orchards.
Head towards the largest riverine island in the world – Majuli. The 210 km long drive will constitute of multiple ferries on kilometres wide Brahmaputra, and a bridge which looks like this and you can run your bike on it too.
The 350 km long drive will challenge your driving skills. But in the end you will find yourself at one of the most celebrated passes in the country. You can choose to stay at the monastery at Bomdila.
Bikers swear by its name. Tawang is the ultimate biking destination. After a pleasant morning stroll in Bomdila, gear up to take the 170 km journey to Tawang Monastery.
The 325 km long journey will bring you back to Tawang from where you can take a flight back to your hometown.
